By highlighting stories of success (primarily from women and people of color), this event is designed to be an inspirational, mentorial resource for entrepreneurs and professionals.

About Your Guest:

As VP of Current Series and Diversity for Disney TV Animation, Jay Francis has been instrumental in the development and creative management of a long list of successful animated series for both Disney Channel and Disney XD. He recently expanded his role to work closely with the development and recruitment teams to identify, secure, and mentor diverse creative talent for Disney TV Animation and Disney Junior.

Prior to joining Disney TV Animation, Jay held the position of VP and General Manager of LEVEL13.NET, developing original properties and acquiring films for Film Roman’s internet subsidiary. In addition to his duties as VP, Jay also handled all of the company’s artistic and production recruitment for The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Jay received a B.S. in TV/Film Production from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

About Your Host, Rubelyn Chu:

Rubelyn Chu is the Co-Founder of Access2, a sourcing and staffing marketplace that operates in tandem with community organizations. We help ensure that space is occupied by providing opportunity through events and storytelling through our unique platform, one of them being sports.

Rubelyn is part of the Alumni Advisory Board and Advisee in the Entrepreneurship Program at Northwest University and is a mentor to local high school and college students and in the local startup community. When she isn’t working, she can be found in the gym, going on road trips/traveling or with family and friends.
