Beyond the Frame, VFX in Advertising

Postproduction and VFX plays an essential part in advertising, helping brands create eye-catching and memorable campaigns. Whether it’s adding subtle polish to a scene or building something completely imaginary, it brings ideas to life in ways that aren’t always possible in real life. Multitasking, planning, and finding the most effective way to get things done are all part of our daily routine. In this presentation, Kate Gabriel, Creative Director at No8 will take you behind the scenes of several projects they’ve worked on at No.8, sharing the process from being on set to delivering the final pixel. They will discuss how to stay positive and think creatively under tight deadlines, explore approaches to problem solving and highlight the importance of teamwork and celebrating shared achievements.

Kate is a Creative Director for CG at No.8, crafting award-winning work for brands like Nike, Amazon, BMW, Coca-Cola, Formula E, and Samsung. Her portfolio varies with high profile campaigns, music videos, including The Chemical Brothers’ Free Yourself and cinematic game trailers such as Battlefield 2042: What A Time To Be Alive and EA’s Wild Hearts. Before joining No.8, Kate spent over five years at The Mill as a Lighting & Rendering Supervisor, bringing ambitious stories to life through pixels.
