Talk Overview:
BlueBolt VFX Supervisor David Scott will reveal how BlueBolt created the haunting VFX for Rober Eggers' horror masterpiece.
Led by overall VFX Supervisor Angela Barson and David Scott, BlueBolt created an exceptionally varied range of VFX to support Eggers' dark gothic vision for Nosferatu and match DOP Jarin Blaschke’s unique Oscar-nominated lighting style. BlueBolt's artists tackled full CG environments including the fictional city of Wisburg, Orlok’s castle, his ship on stormy sea; huge swarms of CG rats, extreme blood and gore and complex shot stitches across 253 shots. Eggers shot on 35 mm film with unusually long shots of up to 3 minutes and an average of 800 frames, with VFX supporting an astonishing 90 of the film’s 132 minutes.
