Whether you are animating with a pencil on paper or with a mouse and keyboard, the principles of animation are the same but what is different between 2D and 3D animation? In this free live workshop, Animation Director T. Dan Hofstedt will discuss similarities and differences in 2D & 3D workflow, mindset, and key management, while reviewing practical strategies and approaches to adapt 2D skills to 3D character animation. He will also be taking your questions in this live session.
T. Dan Hofstedt’s resume reads like an all-time great list of animated classics. Seven years at Sullivan-Bluth, sixteen years at Disney, nine years at Warner Bros and four at Sony Imageworks, T. Dan’s career has spanned decades where he has worked on both 2D and 3D projects. His foundation is the classic “actor with a pencil” (or a computer), where no matter what the medium is, the emphasis is on character.
