Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War – The Glass Floor Collapse!

BlueBolt's VFX Supervisor Richard Frazer and CG Supervisor Dave Cook take a behind-the-scenes look at the 365 VFX shots that BlueBolt created as lead studio for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War. They'll dive into the creative and technical challenges behind the film's complex CG environments with a focus on the large-scale destruction that includes the spectacular glass floor collapse sequence, exploring its planning, Houdini fracture simulations in addition to the full CG recreation of Dubai's Damac skyscraper.

Richard Frazer is a highly experienced VFX Supervisor, compositor and motion graphic designer at BlueBolt with credits spanning feature film, episodic and commercials from Peaky Blinders to James Cameron’s Avatar. Richard recently completed production as overall VFX Supervisor on Amazon’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Prior to this he was a VFX Supervisor on two seasons of Steven Knight’s A Thousand Blows, Fast X (Universal) and Outlander season seven. He was overall VFX Supervisor for Netflix/Carnival Films’ Seven Kings Must Die - the feature-length final chapter of The Last Kingdom saga, having previously supervised the entire The Last Kingdom series three through five.

Dave Cook is a highly experienced, award-winning senior 3D artist and CG Supervisor with feature film and episodic credits including Robert Egger’s Nosferatu, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and The Last Kingdom (Netflix). Dave joined BlueBolt in 2021 as CG Supervisor on Amazon sci-fi series The Peripheral. Since then his credits include The Great season 3, two seasons of The Last Kingdom including the feature-length finale Seven Kings Must Die, Robert Eggers Nosferatu for which he received a VES Award nomination, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale and more recently, Prime Video’s feature Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Dave is currently in production on Robert Egger’s Werwulf.
