BYOA Feedback Session - Day 2 (Afternoon)

  • Barbican Centre Silk Street London, England, EC2Y 8DS United Kingdom (map)

Friday 6th September, DAY 2 - 4:00 PM - Terrace

Event Overview:

The BYOA (Bring Your Own Art) event at the London ACM SIGGRAPH Rainbow Conference 2024 offers a unique opportunity for students to receive personalized feedback on their portfolios from experienced industry professionals. This event is designed as a speed networking session, where students can engage with mentors in short, focused review slots to gain valuable insights and guidance on their work.

How It Works:

Speed Networking Format:

Students will be allocated a 15-20 minute slot with a mentor to review their portfolio. While we will do our best to match you with a mentor in your specific discipline, please note that exact matches cannot be guaranteed as the event is volunteer-based.

Portfolio Preparation:

To ensure smooth and efficient reviews, please pre-upload your work to SyncSketch and also have your portfolio readily available on your laptop or iPad. As Wi-Fi availability at the venue may be uncertain, having your work accessible offline is essential.

Registration:

To reserve a spot for a portfolio review, students must register at the London ACM SIGGRAPH Booth on the terrace. Please note that a **BYOA Feedback Ticket** is required, along with either a **General Admission Ticket** or **Member Ticket** to access the feedback list and the venue.

Mentor Interaction:

  • One-on-One Guidance: This is your chance to receive direct, personalized feedback from professionals currently working in the industry. The mentors will provide constructive critiques and share their insights, helping you refine your work and better prepare for your future career.

  • Networking Opportunity: Beyond the reviews, this event is an excellent chance to connect with mentors and peers, expanding your professional network within the creative and technical fields.
