About the Panel Discussion

In an industry which is constantly changing, the path to success can often seem daunting. This panel will close the Rainbow Conference with an inspiring discussion that highlights the empowering journeys of four members of our industry. They will share their stories of overcoming challenges, embracing their unique perspectives, and thriving in the CGI industry. We aim to make our attendees feel a renewed sense of possibility, practical advice, and motivation to pursue their paths in the world of CGI.

Members can access all DAY 2 conference sessions with their member ticket. General Admission tickets will have either an evening or afternoon session, and you are only allowed entry during the time specified on your ticket. You can book a ticket for the evening session and a ticket for the afternoon session, so ensure you check the schedule to select the correct ones.

All tickets are FREE. Please be aware that entry to the Screening room is on a first-come, first-served basis as there is limited capacity. Members have priority entry to the Screening room.

Speakers:

Kate Gabriel

VFX Supervisor at No.8

Kate Gabriel has worked across many award-winning projects for clients including Nike, Amazon, BMW, Coca Cola, Formule-E, Samsung - Galaxy S23 FE Greatest Hits, Betano - Sportsbook and Pepsi x Ea Sports. 

Prior to No.8, Kate worked at The Mill over 5 years, as a Lighting & Rendering Supervisor. 

As well as commercials Kate has worked on music promos including Chemical Brothers - Free Yourself and game trailers for Battlefield 2042 ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ and ‘Wild Hearts’ Cinematic for EA.  

 

Kate is also actively involved in the VFX industry, in the years 2016-2022 Kate was chairing the London ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter a non-profit organisation Charity promoting the Computer Graphic community in London. Though no longer an officer, she remains an active board member of the chapter and continues to help with events in London.

Hayley Miller

Founder of World VFX Day

Hayley is the Founder of World VFX Day, a new global event to shine a spotlight on visual effects across entertainment, advertising, gaming and immersive. Hayley is also a marketing and PR consultant with over a decade across cinema, music, technology and, for the last 6 years, has worked solely in visual effects (Pixomondo, MPC/Technicolor Studios and Territory Studio).

Hannah Wong

Surfacing Supervisor at Jellyfish Pictures


Within her 9 years of experience, she's worked on high projects such as 'Nimona', 'The Garfield Movie' and 'Kung Fu Panda 4'. As well as projects in Children's TV Series like 'The Adventures of Paddington Bear', commercials and contributing work at studio wide level. Example, doing Research and Developement to find solutions to achieve unique stylised look development for animation.

Hannah has provided support to develope future talents in the industry from participanting at recruitment booths and various talks, both in house and external events.

Emma Kolasinska

Mentoring Programme Lead, ACCESS: VFX, Executive Producer at Lux Aeterna

Emma is an VFX Executive Producer at Lux Aeterna, Bristol. Emma has worked in television for the last 17 years across broadcast, commercials, music promos and immersive experiences. 

Emma has worked on programmes such as The Solar System (BBC), Einstein & the Bomb (Netflix), The Crown (Netflix), Frozen Planet II (BBC), Green Planet (BBC) and with award winning brands such as Nike, Dyson, Harrods, MTV, Disney, Nickelodeon and BskyB. 

Emma is proud to have worked with ACCESS VFX for the last five years and is the E mentorship lead. She currently has 12 mentees across the UK and India. 

Brenda Ximena Roldan Romero

Moderator

Brenda Ximena Roldan Romero is a skilled 3D animator based in the UK with a passion for blending character and VFX animation. She holds both a BA (Hons) in Computer Animation and Visualization and an MA in 3D Animation from Bournemouth University. With four years of industry experience, she has contributed to high-profile projects for clients like Disney, Warner Brothers, and DreamWorks.

Brenda is currently working at Framestore, where she continues to bring dynamic, impactful animations to life. She also teaches part-time at Bournemouth University and serves as Vice-Chair of London ACM SIGGRAPH, where she organizes events, mentors aspiring animators, and fosters community engagement within the animation industry. Brenda is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of animation and supporting the next generation of artists.
